After a year of backpacking the world, I decided to hang up the backpack and have settled in Ontario to continue my education. I am currently doing my Masters of Business Administration (MBA) to help my realize my goal of working in the sports management field.
What I Learned
I have always wanted to be involved in the professional world of sports, so when I came to Acadia I was originally enrolled in the Business Program, I transferred into Recreation before Frosh week was over. The Recreation program offered an educational experience that provided me with a comprehensive preparation of the issues and skills needed to succeed in the professional sports world. The program also provided me with excellent fundamentals in business. It is this mixture that really makes the Recreation Management program at Acadia unique.
My Acadia Highlight
My favorite part of my 4 years at Acadia (hard question haha), was my 4th year core term project in Guyana. I was able to take part in a 5 week community development project in South America. Not many programs give the students the opportunity to take such control over their own education this and empower an individual to take what one has learned in the classroom and apply it to global community in an exciting and meaningful way.
