Following my graduation from Acadia in 2008 I started guiding cycling tours around Atlantic Canada for a company based out of Hubbards, N.S, Pedal and Sea Adventures, as well as becoming a certified personal trainer. I use the entrepreneurial and leadership skills I gained from my experience at Acadia on a daily basis.
What I Learned and Highlights
It was a simple decision for me to major in Recreation Management when I first heard of the program during my final year in high school. I had always been active growing up, and enjoyed being outdoors so what better way to learn the skills and theories. I could never have imagined the opportunities that were awaiting for me during the next four years; spending countless days in the backcountry learning expedition management, learning risk management straight from the experts themselves (search and rescue technicians), reading the history of sports, travelling to Guyana to practice hands on community development and meeting lifelong friends.
