Myah Rach-Sharpe

Myah is a creative, critical thinker dedicated to excellence in everything she does. Her scholarship and excellence is devoted to taking leadership to shift to a more caring, just and sustainable society and she takes every opportunity to further her knowledge and skills towards these ends. Before graduation, she had obtained a full-time job managing program development and staffing for an outdoor centre in British Columbia, where both staff and participants will benefit from her passion, knowledge and skills.

About Alex Wright

This award was started in 1998 in memory of Dr. Alex Wright who was Director of the School of Recreation Management and Kinesiology and a faculty member since the late 1970's. Dr. Wright died in the Spring of 1997. In recognition of his love of scholarship, this award recognizes outstanding commitment to scholarship as demonstrated by a graduating student within the Community Development program (formerly Recreation Managment). It is presented to the student who best exemplifies energy and enthusiasm for learning, coupled with an inquiring mind and who demonstrates creative thinking, analytical reasoning and effective communication skills. The recipient of the award is chosen by faculty.
