Graduates

Graduates have been very successful in academia as well as in the community development, recreation management and other professions. Graduates have gone on to complete a Ph.D. and are highly respected in the academic field. For example, Dr. Kelly Whitney-Squires received a prestigious scholarship and completed her doctorate at the University of Otago in New Zealand. Dr. Jacquelyn Onescu is an assistant professor at the University of of New Brunswick. Dr. Tom Delamere is a professor at Vancouver Island University, British Columbia. Dr. Brenda Robertson taught in the program at Acadia for many years.

In the profession, Robin Campbell is now enrolled in a Ph.D. program at Dalhousie University focusing on Health and Volunteerism. Cate Trueman is working as a consultant in environmental education and community development in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Ziwei Liu is working in tourism development in Vancouver, and Oonagh Holmes works in the Alumni Office at Acadia University and teaches in the Community Development and Kinesiology programs at Acadia.
